WARNING :
Ne pas suivre les instructions peut conduire à un incendie et à des blessures corporelles.
Failure to follow instructions may result in fire and personal injury.
– Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to bed. Also extinguish candles that are smoking, flickering, or whose flame has gotten out of control.
– Burn candles out of reach of children and animals. Do not place candles where they are likely to be knocked over by children, animals, etc.
– Never light candles near flammable objects! Place your candles on a non-flammable, heat-resistant surface, at least 30 cm from any flammable object (curtains, decorations, etc.).
– Always leave 10 cm between lit candles. Respect the safety distance indicated on the packaging. If it is not there, do not take any risks and respect a distance of 10 cm. Candles placed too close together may drip or produce soot.
– Avoid placing candles in a draftKeep your candles away from drafts to avoid rapid and uneven burning, the production of soot and excessive dripping. Caution: a draft may push a light curtain into the candle flame.
– Do not place a candle near a heat source. The higher the temperature around the candle, the greater the risks.
– Place the candles vertically Place your candles straight to avoid dripping and to reduce the risk of combustion. Glass containers may break if the flame comes into contact with their walls.
– Cut the wick to approximately 1 cm before lighting. Shorten the wick before lighting the candle. If the wick is too long, wax may build up during burning or the flame may rise too high and produce soot.
– Trim the edges to a height of 1 cm. When an edge forms higher than the wick, the flame is no longer sufficiently ventilated to burn properly and it produces soot.
– Remove debris from the melted wax to prevent it from igniting. Objects such as matches, insects, decorations or pieces of wick can ignite. The candle then risks overheating and suddenly catching fire.
– Do not move a lit candleMoving a lit candle can have the same effect as placing it in a draft (soot and drips).
– Always snuff the flame, do not blow it out. For safety reasons, use a snuffer. never blow out a candle, especially when it is in a container such as a tealight holder: the wax may catch fire or be splashed on your face.
– Never use liquid to extinguish a candle. If the candle cannot be extinguished easily, cover it with a damp cloth. Never try to extinguish a candle with water. Water can cause melted wax to splash out and cause the tealight holder to explode.
– Do not let a candle burn out completely. Extinguish the candles when they reach approximately 2 cm from the candle holder. When a candle burns out completely, it risks leaving burn marks or even causing a fire: a glass candle holder can explode, a metal candle holder can overheat.
